Profile: My name is Cat Thomson and I am a freelance writer, ex-Scotsman. For the past couple of years, I wrote a weekly double-page spread called Scotland's Larder, for The Scotsman which told the stories behind food and drink and farming businesses for The Scotsman. I was runner-up as Food and Drink writer at Scottish Press Awards in 2022 and was nominated again in 2023 and 2024 .
